Canadian Cashmere Breed Standard
Home

We are a small family run farm located in Glencairn, Ontario in South Simcoe County our primary focus is on our Cashmere Fibre & Meat goats and we will be offering non-certified organic heirloom variety produce and welcoming our Canadian Chantecler Chickens to our family and farm life. We raise our animals and run our farm using ethical practices and responsible stewardship of the land.

Cashmere the fibre of kings, produced from the lowly Cashmere goat. This fibre is so luxurious that the Arc of the Covenant of the old testament was lined and curtained with it.

Cashmere goats are easy to raise. They are healthy animals and take only minimal care. They are not jumpers like many other breeds and standard woven wire sheep fencing will contain them nicely. Minimal shelter is all that is required to house them as they have their own Cashmere coat for cold weather, and shed it for the summer so they can stay cool in high heat.

They love weeds and will eradicate Leafy Spurge, Poison Ivy- Oak, Bind weed, Canadian Thistle, and many other Noxious varieties.

Chantecler Chickens are a heritage breed and a truly Canadian Breed of Poultry.

We are a 5 minute drive to Creemore, 10 minutes from Stayner and approx 20 minutes to Barrie, Wasaga Beach and Collingwood. Alliston to the South East of us is approx 25 minutes drive.

We have limited quantities of Raw Cashmere Fibre in White, Cream, Brown, Beige, Grey and pale amber.

We are also taking Freezer orders for Chevon Meat, should you have demand for more quantity or an immediate order we cannot meet, we do have a co-operating farm located in our very own county that will be able to do so.

We are members of the Canadian Cashmere Producers Association, Eastern Cashmere Association, Ontario Goat, Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
